“Strip”, a chairs collection developed considering the principle of complete separability of the materials at the end of the product life, according to the circular economy criteria.

The Strip collection is available in 4 versions and, in its top of the range, proposes the continuous armrest enriched by a weaving in nautical rope that recalls, in the modern times, the artisanal production of almost a century ago.

Separability

Every component has been selected on the base of its own recyclability characteristics and utilized in a project that enable, for the end user too, the complete dismantling. The name “Strip” comes from an abbreviation of the word “Strip-tease” that, in a playful form, want to underline the possibility to undress completely the product. The organic shape and the use of innovative polyurethanes containing high percentage of recycled raw materials, grant an important comfort and an optimal seating position

Martin Ballendat

Martin Ballendat has been an internationally successful designer for 35 years. Born in Bochum in 1958, he studied design at the Folkwangschule in Essen. In 1995 he founded his own studio in Northern Austria and later a second one in Germany. Design Ballendat is a company with 18 employees and is working with many well-known brands in more than 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Thailand, USA, Egypt, Poland, France and Great Britain). He has received more than 150 design awards. For 15 years Martin Ballendat has been a lecturer and guest professor at the design schools of Graz and Salzburg.
